The four Jonas Brothers... yes all four including Frankie "Bonus Jonus"... will be starring in the Farrelly Brothers comedy feature film "Walter The Farting Dog," a story about a family that attempts to live with an extremely flatulent dog. Contrary to comments made by Joe Jonas in early September, this project is in active development. A deal was made following Joe's statement that "It was a big rumor that we were doing a movie called Walter the Farting Dog."
"Walter the Farting Dog" is based on a series of children's books of the same name by William Kotzwinkle and Glenn Murray, illustrated by Audrey Colman. The books were all co-written with Elizabeth Gundy, although she is credited for the last three. There are five books in the series, and the original is available in more than a dozen languages. Two plush toy versions of Walter that fart when squeezed, are marketed along with the books by MerryMakers Inc.
The film's screenplay is being written by Sean Anders and John Morris, who have written the screenplays for such films as Sex Drive, She’s Out of My League, Hot Tub Time Machine, and the upcoming Mr. Popper's Penguins. Sean Anders says of Walter The Farting Dog, "It feels like a Farrelly brothers movie for kids. It’s about this homeless dog that wants nothing more than a family, but he’s got this…horrible problem."
