Whatever the delay is for, it better be good.
If this iPhone does NOT have 4G, I, along with many other people,
will be very disappointed.

I hope they keep the button. I like Ilene single buttons simplicity. My friends have android phones with touch home buttons and they tell me they always accidentally pressing them.

I like how the proximity sensor was casually cut off from the picture. I wonder if that iPhone has the "new" proximity sensor or the old one.
I bet if T-Mobile got the iPhone, they wouldn't need to sell the company since many people would go back to T-Mobile.
I agree... why would T-Mobile sell themselves to AT&T if they know they are going to get the iPhone!!!??? I sure as hell would switch to T-mobile if they came out with a T-Mobile version!

We knew all this Graphics stuff already like a month ago from the Engadget review.
We now have some actual game results now and it seems even worse than the 50% drop seen in the original review.
Instead of 50% of the performance of the 320M, we now have:
26% at a lower resolution in Wow
34% for Lost planet
Those numbers seem to suggest the ULV SAndy Bridge has even worse graphics performance than the previous generation Nvidia 9400M
They said the Series 9 gets 25 mins less battery life (http://www.engadget.com/2011/03/28/samsung-series-9-900x-laptop-review/).
PCMag says the Series 9 gets almost an hour MORE battery life (http://www.pcmag.com/image_popup/0,1740,iid=291739,00.asp). These reviews are all over the place, and only tell part of the story.
it is only 29min. Not sure where you get almost 1 hour from. And it was measured in Windows, so I think this is the most comparable number. Mac OS is known to be better at using less power than Windows. From this, I'd say there would be a marginal increase in battery life by switching to Sandy Bridge - nothing major.

Maybe it is universal - perhaps in Lion every OS application/Finder window toolbar is going to be in pimp-style leather? :o

You can use Vista Home standalone in a virtualization environment legally.
This is purely a misinterpretation of the EULA.
If they didn't understand this on /., they're not going to understand this here, either.

At this point I'm sort of glad the iP5 won't (likely) come out until September. That'll give the white phone a few months of real world use. I'm curious if it'll still be white and pristine a few months from now.

Does a proximity sensor work off light? (Honest question, I'm ignorant)
Some light wave. I believe it is infrared, but don't quote me on it.

"Time to press the magic button!" lbro said as he pushed a big blue button in the middle of the wall. chrmjenkins saw his life flash before his eyes. When his life stopped flashing itself in front of him, he saw a beautiful blue planet below. He at first thought it was Earth, but his hopes where soon shattered when lbro started shouting "Mammariea! Mammeriea! We made it on the third try!"
"I'm ever so cheerful to tell you that we are not orbiting the planet of Mammeriea, but the planet of Stupig." jav6454 commented. "Stupig! Take the ship down! I have a score to settle here!" demanded lbro. Down through the clouds the ship went reaching speeds that would have shamed even the fastest falling object. It landed just outside the biggest city, Cornilith.
lbro marched, with his two companions in tow, up to a little shop called Moyank's Strip Sandwich Ship Shop. After waiting in line and paying for some tickets, they soon sat down in a large auditorium. As the lights dimmed, a voice rang out across the darkly lit stage. "Welcome to my humble show and stage! Please enjoy yourselves and feast upon good feasts!"
The lights gradually came back up and revealed Moyank24 sitting on a stool behind a deli bar wearing a butchers outfit. "You there, in the front row! What kind of sandwich do you want?" She went around rows making sandwiches and presenting people with food. lbro was waiting for her to arrive. When she finally did he told her "I'd like the sugar cube that leads me to Mammeriea please." Moyank24 thinking this was a secret code that he had just made up, replied "We don't' have any sugar cubes. In fact, there isn't any sugar any where in this building. What kind of sandwich will you be having today?"
"I'll take peanut butter and jelly please." pipped up chrmjenkins. "PBJ it is." said Moyank24 as she walked back up to the stage to make him a sandwich. lbro, not happy for the lack of the sugar cube, turned to leave chrmjenkins and jav6454 alone in the sea of sandwich eating people. When he was approaching the fifth tot he last step from the exit, a shot rang out across the large room. He spun around to see Moyank24 fall into the orchestra pit, sandwich and tray following her.
Now horrified, he grabbed chrmjenkins and jav6454 and rushed them to the ship. "My sandwich!" exclaimed chrmjenkins. lbro, now very shaken up, decided to let jave6454 press the magic button. The ship vanished on the spot. Causing the indigenous multi legged people to wet all their crotches at once.

After Jobs walks out, but before he starts the Keynote. Someone should ask Steve to empty his pockets. First the mini, then the nano, this time should be the Video iPod. I am hoping for a couple more things this Keynote.

Well Apple has used up all the "big cat" names like Tiger and Lion which means that either OS 11 is underway or they will be in the embarassing situation of having to use lesser cat names which imply "less".
Ocelot, Cheetah, Cougar, Fluffy, etc......
I for one am ready for OS 11.0 "Merlot"
Stan: "Surprise! I got us a second wife. You know, to help with cooking and cleaning. Her name's impossible to pronounce, so I just call her Thundercat."
Thundercat FTW. Why not, what with Thunder Bolt!
Wine??? Nooooo.

It's going to have to outperform the ATV2 by leaps and bounds for me to purchase it. Sounds cool if it does and comes in at a reasonable price point though.

How about a proto-telepathic interface?
I want an iPod that can read my mind...I'll bet Apple could do it
It can be done and is already being done. A receptor near the part of your brain that controls movement picks up where you want something to go (like a mouse pointer) Currently however there is a little disadvantage, because you need a pin through your skull to pick up the signals accuratly enough. However, there have been experiments with "stickers" on your skull, but this is less accuratly. Still, it should be well enough for an iPod Shuffle interface. And if they incorporate this in headphones, it should be possible.
1. Power Supply through SplashPower. Similar to those toothbrushes and razors that charge through there plastics with magnetic fields.(strange they haven't updated there site since September 05...did Apple acquire them?)

I'd kill if the next iPhone could do LTE. The Thunderbolt is great @ speeds, the battery problem is remedied by the extended battery. The bigger problem (for me) is the Android OS. After using Apple's OS, Android looks like a big freakin' mess.
