Our PPD has dropped 20% from the peak, I lost a big unit this week due to a reboot, same old annoying problem...

I'm so excited for Belkin Grip Vue since I love that case for my 3G. I will most likely end up getting that. However, all the other cases look fairly cool, too. Decision, decision! :)

well i finally got 2 million now. i started this thread on 10/4/2009. today is 11/26/2009. so what is that, 53 days? considering how long it took for me to get to 1 million to begin with, i'm pretty happy with that
well today (12.22.09) i hit 3 million. so that was only like 27 days for the last million. i'm happy with that. just gotta keep it going

1988 Ford Ranger XLT Supercab. 2.0 l4, 5 spd manual. Few small issues with it, but it runs pretty well for its age and high mileage, plus only paid $1700 for it. :D Love it to death. :apple: (I admit it, I have some redneck in me :p)

I guess we need a law disclosing if such and such device tracks you and needs to disclose that to you clearly via a warning label/other....

I can't even edit an audio clip in quicklime (10.1). This looks like a regression because Quicktime X allows trimming in 10.6.
EDIT: scratch that, I wasn't looking in the right menu. It works fine.

Mini is just fine all it needs is a better graphics chip, its what really holds this machine down in my view and yes I own 1.

Not at all. It's pretty easy to clean too, just use a damp paper towel.
Another thing I noticed, if anyone still has their 1st generation iPod Touch's stand (the little plastic default one that came with it), it works pretty well on the 4th generation iPod with the Grip Vue case.

I think a lot of you are expecting way too much on the "iTV" and will be very disappointed when it gets released.
1. DVR Functionality?
Nope, I don't see it. Don't see it happening EVER. This places iTV in direct competition with Cable and Satellite providers, which (imho) is a losing battle. A good example is Tivo. While, Tivo is still lauded in the industry and consumers as having the "best DVR interface/UI," it's still not selling well to consumers. Why? Cable and Satellite providers are providing DVRs and a MUCH lower cost, and even though their UI/interface sucks terribly, because of the LOW COST, the Cable/Satellite boxes are outselling Tivos.
On Demand. This category amongst cable companies are expanding very rapidly and offering free content left and right. Good example is HBO, nearly *ALL* of their shows are On Demand now which is instant access to all of their shows. Generally speaking (for people who use HBO On Demand), this has been extremely popular, maybe this is why HBO is still not being sold on iTunes? Why download when you have access to nearly all of the HBO content for free and instantaneous?

WOW! "Think Secret" is really putting its reputation on the line by making this ("WWDC surprise: Apple to announce iTunes movie rentals" and Second-gen iPod nano on tap for August") two statements! What are the chances of Jobs announcing movie rentals and second-gen ipod nanos at WWDC (of all places) (in addition to 10.5 and MacPros)? But with Jobs, who knows what will be announced. My old one started looking like that but then Apple replaced it with a new one. I bought a keyboard cover. Not because I hate shiny keys, but because hair and stuff was falling in the keys.
Here at school it is my only computer, and I used it almost exclusively last year because I was on the move so much. So yeah I guess you could say I do a lot of typing on here haha. :)

Now those REALLY sound bad. Air isn't so bad, this is just the typical reaction people get after a release of..."Oh man, this is the end of the world...the name sucks, where's this feature we made up, why doesn't it solve world hunger, I hate the design."
Maybe people will learn to lower their expectations a little, hype stuff less, and be pleasantly surprised when the next big thing comes out that actually meets reasonable expectations without discouraging you by not meeting unreasonable ones. (That wasn't to you specifically, by the way, just a general statement.)

In my opinion as a moviemaker... the store should have:
10 - Lot's of movies / Variety it�s what�s all about
9 - Lot�s of Bandwidth / Assuming lot�s of people will use it on launch, slow dowloads are a HUGE down
8 - Decent compression / No comments, it�s obvious
7 - Diferent Sound Options / Not everybody want�s 5.1 or DTS or 2.0, but if I buy a new stereo surround system I�d like my 5.1 for free later on.
6 - Diferent sizes / I don�t wanna see a feature in my current iPod, but yes I�d like to see it in my PSP (if I had one) etc...
5 - New iPod / Okay, they won�t let me see it on my PSP(if I had one) so give me something better to go along and make me proud to say "I love my iPod, I love apple�s iMovies Store"
4 - iMovie Podcast sharing / I would be cool if I could post a iMovie Podcast and show my Short Films hi-res to the world!
3 - Hard Disk Burning / Oh c�mon!! Let me burn it to a DVD so I can watch it anywhere I�d like... or I�m... humm... buyin it on Amazon or Best Buy.
2 - Extras for Free / DVD extras are really important expecially if you work on the industry and would like to see how they are making things happen.

I mean... the files are going to be huge but with todays cable speeds (4,8mbs). And why else would be the point for the release of a 24" (user friendly) HD iMac???

I was shocked when the price of the core duo minis increased in price above $500. As mentioned several times, that is the reason to buy a Mac mini. I think we'll see meroms in the iMacs as they represent the mid-level Macs in Apples line-up.

Does anyone have any insight in how the ability of Thunderbolt to daisy chain will be impact by older Mini-DP devices, such as a 27" Cinema Display? Will it be possible or will the 27" Cinema Display be prevented from functioning in a Thunderbolt daisy chain?
I'm holding off on buying an iMac until the refresh, but if I won't be able to use my Cinema Display with Thunderbolt devices, than I may not need to wait.
