Hopefully with the introduction of this mouse, Apple will reduce the price of the current Mighty Mouse. Considering the MM is Apple's cheapest mouse, $50 is too much IMO.
Following past Apple price trends, the wireless MM should be double the price of the wired version. Unless Apple drops the price of the current mouse, I do not believe there will be a large enough price difference between the wired and wireless models. ...or Apple could charge $100.
But I won't be buying no matter what the price is. The battery life on my current Apple BT mouse is already bad enough. I'd hate to see the battery life on this mouse.

Can they really make big profit out of this? Amazon I mean, seeing how at least 50 would go to the music companies... it would take thousands of downloads to make a marginal profit. Is something wrong here?

I would happily pay the current fee for MobileMe if Apple offered some better options for hosting a website. Right now I pay for web hosting for a family blog and a flickr pro account. If I could host my wordpress blog on my idisk space with my own domain name, I would sign up right now.

This would make a possible model for Videotron and Wind Mobile in Canada and probably give Apple more carrier options in other countries also. It makes sense in a non-US Centric view.
And looking at "carrier acquisitions" here, Rogers acquired Fido ages ago, yet even though the networks worked on the same GSM bands, they still haven't merged. An AT&T purchase of T-mobile would probably take years for a merge to even occur, and a few technology changes. AT&T isn't going to retrofit T-mobile's network and change their frequencies, requiring all the existing customer base to change phones.
So even in a US Centric view, it makes a lot of sense. Basically, don't let an AT&T acquisition of T-mobile trick you into thinking this is a false rumor.

Now I undertand that building this sort of infrastructure costs money and thus it is logical to assume that they would want to recoup some if not all of that investment. However, why would I want to stream music to my phone when I already have music on my phone?
I agree. It would make much more sense for VIDEO.

It's obvious that at this point in time sales of any one phone model is going to be quite a bit less than iPhone sales. Model for model, nothing is close.

"We do need a more consistent experience,",,,, introducing the Zune Blue Screen.
:/ i've yet to see a blue screen from xp. i'm sure it's out there. but if you run sp2, xp is a pretty solid and reliable OS. zune won't beat the ipod, but it sure as hell won't fail.

This is what will get me switching to VMware vs Parallels, multicore support in virtualization!
That will work nicely on the Mac Pros. Keep us updated.

I tried the MM that came with my last computer, and I thought it sucked. Steve Jobs is brilliant, but also stubborn. He didn't want to make a 2 button mouse, so he found a way to make a mouse that didn't actually have 2 buttons, but could work like it did. I have a Logictech that works amazingly. It's comfortable, and I can do everything really fast and easy. I think most people that do/will buy the MM, do so because it's Apple.

Apparently South Coast Plaza is selling none today
Still waiting here at Fashion Island - crossing fingers!
I really hope they have them in stock for you, man, and you emerge victorious. I just wanna see someone win today... besides Charlie Sheen.

Quick, somebody make up some rumors for the man. ;)
Heard from an analyst who knows a reputable source that ios 5 will be released next Tuesday.
The date makes sense since it coincides with the 3rd of the month, which is also a prime number.
For now the ios has the code name: ios5 as insiders confirm.
Apple is close lipped as usual, but we hear 3 engineers who were asked: "What's new?" gave each other
high 5's in public and were thus arrested for releasing company secrets.
Verizon will have this ios too and it comes in white

Give some thought to the Citizen, which I believe is one size larger. I do bike, but even on days when I don't, I appreciate having the extra space for my laptop and other various junk.
I recently got a bag in north face, great size and gets my macbook and other documents around with ease.

Firstly, I'd be very surprised if this was Gold Master considering how early it is and I was expecting there to be a few UI updates prior to its release given that the Leopard look is quite old now.
But now they've given us this, a hark back to the whole brushed metal fiasco of early Mac OS X, where there was a mixture of ghastly brushed metal and aqua (yes and that brushed metal Finder ;)). The original reasoning behind the brushed metal was that it was supposed to be reserved for things like iTunes, where certain apps were supposed to resemble their physical counterparts (sound familiar?) but then Apple had to keep amending the UI Interface rules to cover off its many own violations!
Something tells me we're not done yet. Expect Address Book to be the next to 'go leather'. And I wouldn't be surprised if that was it.
From what I remember, Leopard looked like Tiger did for most of its development, before a release just prior to Gold Master made everything the dark grey gradient as you see today. It wouldn't surprise me if the end Lion product looks nothing like the Leopard/Snow Leopard look that you see right now.
When Steve said he wanted to see more of the iPad on Mac OS X, at least we now know he wasn't kidding ;)

ooo come on kiddo :) may be you should advice steve jobs on how to run a company... the guy has only turned apple from bankruptcy to one of the biggest and most admired companies in the world today. but he surely doesnt have a clue of what he is doing :)

I am going with either universal apps for iOS and Mac or appletv. Nothing else makes sense.
Wishing it was the :apple: Console that I have in my head, but that may be a little further out.

It's really disconcerting that so many of the UI changes that Apple has made over the past few OS X iterations have seemed rather arbitrary. Cosmetic improvements are fine (though I think that this look for iCal would be a major step backward), but they should be concentrating on functionality, speed, reliability, and security. If I'm going to give up Rosetta for OS 10.7, I'd like to get a lot more than eye candy.

The word "same" never occurs in the text, which never contemplates multiple installs.
It says you can't use it in a virtual machine. End of story. End of discussion.
Vista's restrictions are just the basic evidence that MS is drowning. Such limitations seem to be an ongoing strategy to guard some revenues in an otherwise extremely bad environment/market scenario for the company.
Currently, MS has only 2 "cash cows":
1 - MS Office, under onslaught by free solutions such as OpenOffice, or web-based suites such as Google's.
2 - MS Windows, which suffers from rampant piracy in developed AND developing markets.
The rest is just a bunch of loss-making ventures, including the XBox and the Zune. Due to lousy management and lack of innovation, MS will be DEAD or just a niche player in less than 10 years.

Someone will make a case. Do you think these established companies want some newjack to come in and steal their entire market? Once you buy a case and like it, you typically stay with that company for your next one. Businesses would rather make money instead of making points.
There is not a huge market for the white iPhone and there may not be that much money to be made. Yes, a smaller case manufacturer may come out with something, but not somebody like Speck or Incase. Considering the delay of the white iphone and the iPhone 5 that many are waiting for, how many of these things are going to be sold? I just don't think a large case maker is going to find it economical to make a new case (if necessary), with the iPhone 5 potentially coming in the summer.

The new look gives the appearance of a physical desktop calendar with leather binding along the top edge, and like the iPad application shows remnants of torn-off pages for additional realism.
I'm glad Apple isn't wasting their time on pointless eye-candy that they will tout amongst the 30,000 improvements that Lion will bring. Oh wait...
Apart from the new aesthetics being debatable, there are just so many other things that need fixing in SL (e.g. SMB sharing is terribly slow, random beachballing, the Finder, root permissions changing, wireless network settings messing up after a while++), that I wish they would concetrate on those...
