The biggest question I have is whether the dual Thunderbolt will support 2 external monitors.

I use the Junk Meter widget (http://www.dashboardwidgets.com/showcase/details.php?wid=607) to see mine and just leave it sitting open on Dashboard all the time.Thanks! :) It's great, but I would have preferred a "get info" option, or something like that.

As it stands now I will pass on the 5 if it's a 4 shell with an A5 and a 8MP camera. If it's a redesign like this, I'd be all over it.

Why would it be Apple TV and have the word "Mac" in it?
I think in lion you will be able to emulate iOS and play all of your apps on your Mac.
OT: My problem with the Mac OS is how redundant it is. In lion you will be able to access your applications from the dock, launchpad, and finder. I just don't get why you need both a launchpad and a dock. Plus in the dock you can just place your applications folder.

To give you an idea how mentally backwards this attitude is: In what is probably considered one of the most backward countries in the world, in Iran, the religious leaders are completely Ok with a transgender operation. To them, a man is a man, a woman is a woman, and a man or woman who has the bad luck to be born in the wrong kind of body should get help to get the problem fixed.I'm not sure where you get the idea that Iran is "one of the most backward countries in the world", because in many ways it is not. The pronouncement that sex-changes were OK came from none other than Ayatollah Khomeini himself, several decades ago.
Homosexuality, of course, is another matter, but that's all right because they apparently "don't have homosexuals in Iran". Probably because they get executed.

Apple has done something VERY important with the iPod. They made it cool, especially among teens thru college-aged kids. Whenever I'm in an Apple store, it's very obvious just how strongly Apple is going after this demographic and I think it's paying off.

Manhattan has some crappy, crappy AT&T service. It's not even "coverage" that's the issue. 5 bars of 3G (whether I'm using a BlackBerry or iPhone)-- it just doesn't want to work. The iPhone needs some sort of compression or else it'll just bring the entire network down.

Apple had a specific complaint about a specific device.
Wait what ? Apple's complaint had multiple utility patents, design patents, trademark infringement claims and trade dress claims. That's pretty broad, not specific.
It also levied these complaints at the many different phones in the Galaxy line-up. The media is only comparing 1 model, the Vibrant/i9000. There are many models included in the complaint, including the Captivate, the Nexus S and the Epic 4G. Yet as shown on this page, you'd be hard pressed to mistake them for a 3GS like the media claims.
Apple's complaint isn't specific and it isn't about a specific model at all. That is why you guys need to look beyond the simple pictures you've seen on Apple biased media. At this point, this could go either way, could get reduced, etc..
Also, the patents Samsung is suing over are quite important as they relate to reduced power usage during data transmission, something we all know Apple values profoundly in their designs. There's 10 patents in all. Like Apple, Samsung is defending their IP. Anyway, like stated many times, this lawsuit and now the counter-suit is just a negotiation tactic by both corporations. Don't worry too much about it and don't try to get into emotional arguments over it, in the end, it doesn't concern us the consumer.

I'm still on iWork 05, couldn't really see the need to update it every year so I'm waiting until iWork 07.
I agree that there is loads of potential in Pages, and found it very usable once I got used to it. I would also like to see a standard 'word processing mode' as using the templates as the main focus of the application doesn't work awfully well for regular word processing.
I also prefer the sidebar palette in Word as you can easily drop down multiple sections rather than having to have open 2 or more inspector panes.
These would be welcome additions and would definitely make me more likely to upgrade in the new year.

The T-Mobile deal isn't a for sure thing. Likely, but the FTC could block it. Also, as the article states T-Mobile's towers use a different frequencies.
Given that, I'm sure that Apple has been testing a possible T-Mobile iphone for a while. Heck ATT probably wouldn't have tried this buy without knowing that the iphone was ready to go on T-Mobile's towers. Then they don't have to worry about making any adjustments until they are ready to take the tower LTE.
The real question is whether Apple can conceivable making a single line up of iphones that works with ATT, T-Mobile and Verizon or will they have to do three lines. I'm hoping the former cause if I sign up for one and it sucks I'd love to be able to switch without having to return my iphone, buy a new one, resync etc

You went up in arms about the itunes logo, but when a mockup is truly horrible, you praise it? This is about the worst mockup i've ever seen.
Apple, please never ever put that awful backing on the iphone. ever.
You hip generation might like holes in your jeans and scratches on your phone, but I just think it's stupid. :p
Maybe they're afraid of yet again having to face the embarassment of having first bashed a design and said it looks like a cheap chinese knock-off and then doing a 180 degree turn when it turns out it's Apples own design, it's a precautionary measure.
(For the record, I never liked the 3G/3GS design, I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the leaked iP4 images and loved it when it turned out to be the actual thing, and if this ugly abomination turns out to be an actual Apple product I loose all respect for Apple)

Agreed. iPhone 4 "feels" perfect in my hands. I hope they leave it nearly as-is and simply throw in the A5 and maybe a better camera. EDIT: And 64GB!

You're right... Apple cares about profit... mostly from selling hardware. Which they do... lots of hardware. I think that's more important for a company.
